Taking into account a big lack of qualified personnel in almost every sector of economy, both in public and private organizations, the EDRC, in cooperation with the Ministry of Economy of RA and the German Technical Cooperation (GTZ), initiated a project on developing of qualified specialists in the country who will later have an opportunity to participate in different public and private projects.
The trainings under the project were addressed to all students of undergraduate courses, MA courses and postgraduates with qualification in economic sciences, as well as young economists under 25. The selection of young people was made on results of specially developed tests and an interview hold by officials from RA Ministry of Economy and specialists from the EDRC and GTZ (preliminary 26 participants were selected). During the courses, various tests, individual assignments and interviews were organized, as a result of which, certifictes were granted to 16 more progressed students by the RA Deputy Minister of Economy, Mr. Mushegh Tumasyan, Executive Director of EDRC, Mr. Gagik Torosyan, the Country Director of the GTZ, Mr. James Macbeth Forbes and the Ambassador of Germany in Armenia, Mr. Hans-Jochen Schmidt.
